What do I need to do if I currently live in the Double Peak attendance boundary, but my child does not attend school within SMUSD?
Your child would be considered a new student to SMUSD and will need to enroll with Double Peak School. New student packets are available in the DPS front office. Registration dates are listed on the DPS website calendar.

How many students attend DPS?
The school was built for 1,200 students - approximately 800 TK-5th grade students and 400 6th-8thgraders.
Is Double Peak School a performing arts school?
No, but we have an instrumental music emphasis, with a K-8 instrument music curriculum. The school has a performance stage, band room, practice rooms, and an elementary music room.
What is special about Double Peak School?
The school offers 3 unique opportunities for all of our students: Instrumental Music, Art and Innovation (engineering, design and coding). All students have access to each of these unique opportunities starting in kindergarten. These opportunities build upon each other creating a K-8 articulated experience.
Is there a GATE program and Honors Courses?
Yes. The GATE program begins in 4th grade for students who qualify and the amount of accelerated classes (6th, 7th & 8th grade) is determined based on the number of students who meet the criteria.
Do the younger and older students interact?
Yes. We have developed structured opportunities and mentoring programs that foster positive interactions between our younger and older students.
